What’s A Good Ecommerce Conversion Rate?
While conversion rates can vary by industry, product type, customer lifecycle, and price point, here are some general benchmarks, according to Littledata:
- The average Shopify conversion rate is 1.4%

- A conversion rate over 4.7% puts you in the top 10%

To locate your conversion rate in Shopify, from your admin navigate to Analytics > Reports > “Conversion rate over time”. This report includes metrics for each stage of the buyer journey tracking the number of total sessions, then added to cart, then reached checkout, and finally completed checkout.
Zooming out from your conversion rate is the broader category of conversions. Other metrics such as Average Order Value (AOV) and Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) are tangentially related to your conversions, though they may not exactly correlate to your conversion rate. How to Proceed with Conversion Apps for Shopify
It can be tempting to get overly ambitious at this stage, adding every app possible to improve your conversion rate. But we recommend avoiding app overload. Installing everything at once can slow down your site and break functionality. Here’s our suggested approach:
- Choose one or two app categories to test first
- Track performance over time using Shopify Analytics and/or GA4
- Use A/B testing and iterate based on results
- Trial multiple apps before committing to one
